DRYSTONE FACED HOUSE
When I first asked celtic stoneworks to stone the front of my new house with sandstone in a tight jointed spec. I had an idea in my head as to what I was looking for. I brought him to other stonework which in my honest opinion, was off outstanding craftsmanship. Tommy mentioned from the offset that he would do better! At first i didnt believe it was possible, but when the stone was being installed, i was in awe of the difference in the work. What I got far exceeded my expectations! One of the biggest advantages in choosing Celtic Stoneworks is the attention to detail is truly amazing. Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skilful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives . Very punctual, hardworking and talented and shows he does take great pride in his work. I would highly recommend Celtic works to anyone looking for a quality stonemason

STONEWORK from a passionate craftsmen.
Coleman quarries was delivering stone to a house where Celtic stoneworks was errecting stone, i noticed the quality of his work in drystone! I can confirm that the work that i seen has been one of the best, if not the best piece of dry stone work that i have witnessed on a house here in the west of Ireland. Its very satisfying knowing that my stone is getting delivered to someone with the knowledge, expertise and passion to construct something so beautiful. A highly skilled, enthusiastic, and a likeable mason who will build you what you need, from many forms of stone. 10 out of 10!

McMonagle Stone has been supplying natural stone to Celtic Works for many years and time and time again we are greatly impressed by the excellent use of our products and his constant discipline to staying within the rules of how stone should be laid. Just recently we viewed a high quality internal project using our Gold Quartzite which was finished to a very high standard by celticworks that you see on the website. We look forward to supplying our products to Celtic Works in the future, our customers can rest assured they are in safe hands. Mc Monagle Stone, Co.Donegal. www.mcmonaglestone.ie
Celtic works did stonework on our house. Once I contacted Tommy he went to extra lengths to ensure I got exactly what I wanted. He sent endless emails with suggestions and was extremely patient while I tried to make up my mind. Despite me not understanding the terminology of stone, he never made me feel inferior. He worked efficiently & professionally on site & was always ready to listen if I had a question. He did end up with an injury of his hand from other work and he made sure to get another equally excellent mason in to work along with him. The end result is fabulous stonework on our house. I absolutely love it & still cannot believe I would be as happy as I am with it. Excellent value also. I would highly recommend Celtic Stone.

We found it difficult to find a stone mason to build ‘Dry Stone’ and after a good bit of research we came across Celtic Works and traveled to meet him and see some of his work. We found Tommy most obliging and easy to work with, as we weren’t on site regularly (4 hours away) he was dependable and always at the end of the phone with updates and progress photos of his work. Having reliable tradesmen on site is invaluable! Pictures of the end result are on here and the standard of his work speaks for itself. We are very happy with how it turned out and we get lots of compliments on the stone work. We particularity love how he maintained the old traditonal irish stone bond on our work. Not many masons today do this, and its a credit to celticworks for staying within the rules of stone. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Tommy to anyone for his outstanding work with stone! Good stone work is so hard to come across. When others visit us and see the railway bridge in Newport and marvel at its creation. The next question is asked, is there many more doing this craft today. I replied very few. Later in the day we were visiting Tourlough house and spotted a beautiful stone wall and the house and garage built with same. I was ordered to stop for my guests to admire this work . It was highly praised. Well done Celtic Works. Jude Walsh , Newport/Castlebar westpot beekeeping assocition
We contacted Celticworks to price stone on a gable for the front of our house. He swiftly arrived to measure up and we received his estimate within a few days. The price was very competitive to what was quoted from other stone masons, however we decided to wait on Celtic works because of the glowing reviews we were hearing from others and after seeing some of his work. We did have to wait on his services however, when you see what he did with the stone, it was well worth the wait! We decided to go with a dry jointed look, an were absolutely delighted with it!! What people need to realise when choosing a stone mason, it is an art and not all stone masons can produce excellent work. One just has to look about the county to see this, with terrible looking walls/gables . He explained to us what spec he'll provide with the stone provided. He managed to achieve all this and more, it was outstanding! Another tip when choosing a mason, dont choose one on price alone because it could be a costly mistake in any newbuild. You are paying for a skilled tradesman and an art, and in my opinion, he was worth the wait, and more importantly, is worth every cent! You will see why we gave this excellent review once you see the pictures our home on this website. phillip.dunlevy Kilmaine
Where do we start with giving Celticworks a review. We need to give at least 5 reviews for all the work he's did for us, but will keep it in one review. Over the years weve had him tile our kitchen, skim plaster walls inside, re-roof an old shed, block-work, exterior render, concrete footpaths and then build a beautiful dry sandstone stone wall. We are exceptionally pleased with all of his work, but the one that stands out from the rest is the stone-wall with a sand stone coping which looks great. Excellent work! Everyone who has visited our home has commented on how beautiful it is. Money well spent! Alot of time and hard labor went into building it. It was a joy watching him make order out of mayhem that was sitting on the ground in a heap of stone. Hard worker, reliable, and goes out of his way for his clients and we highly recommend him.
HIGHLY RECOMENDED !!! Ken Downing
.Celtic Works did major house renovations for us over a period of 6 weeks. During that time we found the work to be of the highest quality. Took great care, pride and precision in everything he did. He was punctual and a very hard worker. He is a great communicator and took great pains to explain what he was doing and was particularly understanding to me as a woman, never spoke down to me but went to great lengths to help me understand what he was doing and what the end product would look like. We have no hesitation in recommending Celtic Works as the best and most reliable of builders. Eileen & Gerard Hyland
We were happy with CelticWorks quote for skimming our 2300sq ft new build house just outside castlebar. The finish that was left was outstanding, and polished up to a high standard! Any vistors to our home also commented on how good the plastering was! Turned up as agreed, worked hard and did an excellent job. I have seen other plasterers work before and it has been good, but CelticWorks plastering was superior to anything ive seen before. You will undrerstand my glowing review after they have plastered a house or wall for you. Michael Davitt
Celticworks was over building us a stone fireplace using small to medium size stone. he also plastered out a few rooms in our renovation of an old house. I can only comment on his work he did for us and i have to say it was excellent. The stone fireplace was very neat and tidy and the plastering was excellent. Even the painters mentioned how good the plastering was. I have no hesitation in recomending him for this work. Brendan O'Rourke, just outside Glasgow
We had CelticWorks remodel our kitchen and tile the floor/splash back. Excellent tiling and takes his time and didint rush the job. His pricing is very reasonable. We also got him to paint our kitchen and hall. Few months later we got him to return to paint our outside and install an outside water tap. We would recommend him for this type of work! David Bailey, Castlebar.
Celtic works installed my laminated floor in hall and living room. Alos painted my living room and got him back to paint my kitchen. Always on time and as a bonus, he collected my materials in his own time and free of charge. Ive recomended him to my friends and family and he did a complete bathroom refit for a family member which was a lovely piece of workmanship. Sinead Dalton Castlebar
Celtic works fitted a new kitchen and a new bathroom for me and tilled all the floors. It is now a year on after the jobs and the work looks as good as the day he finished it. He finished the work in good time, and left the job sparkling when he was finished. He even went as far as to hire a widow cleaner to clean the windows when he was finished . It is hard to find a tradesman that you can trust. I am confident in saying that I would trust him on any job. Thankyou! Owen Walsh, turlough road, Castlebar.
A real stone mason did that work ! Looks so nice! Doug Denman Washington, USA
I love it when Celtic works says, I dont like posting my work because of all the negativity others get when posting there work on this site, then he lays down shit like the godfather of stone masonry lol, I see what you did there Celticworks lol. Fantastic workmanship! Jeff Mohler USA
I like it. It flows nicely. You have maintained the bond fairly consistently throughout the wall and it really shows well. That can be tough to do. The perimeter wall looks great too. Isn't it more satisfying when you step back and say "I did that by myself".... Daniel Rombough unknown location
Love the deep returns on windows. Nice job! Makes it look old skoll and you can see it was built by a pro! Dan French Imperial, Missouri
You my friend are a true master stonemason!!! Saw your pictures on facebook!! Been laying brick and stone for 40 years, nice to see some quality work!!! Keep it up!!! Chad Spahr, Portage Lakes, Ohio
You know your onions was the best compliment and old stone mason I worked with would give. Celtic works i can say you know your onions! A true stonemason! George Gladstone
